So far, my word count for 2008 is a whopping zero. As president of RWA-San Diego, working full-time as a reporter (a dream job that was literally handed to me in January), a father with end-stage Alzheimer's, a child with autism and numerous other responsibilities, it is easy to get overwhelmed.

Nonetheless, writing remains a top priority. I just haven't figured out how to sleep and write at the same time.

Part of what keeps me motivated is the excitement and energy I get from working with other authors. I've had tremendous response from folks who are interested in the ProSAC online community, and just what until you see the support we have from published authors.

ProSAC is officially in business. We've got a newsletter, a writing challenge, a Yahoo group and a weekly blog. There's prizes, contests, tips, advice and much more in the coming weeks.
